About Sydney EV Chargers

Sydney EV Chargers: Specialist EV Installers, Built on 18 Years of Experience

Sydney EV Chargers was founded by Dean Postlethwaite, a licensed electrician with 18 years of hands-on industry experience and a genuine passion for electric vehicles and smart energy technology. What started as a career in the electrical trade evolved naturally into specialist EV charging — the point where Dean’s two great interests, cars and electrical systems, came together.

With over 500 EV charger installations completed across residential, commercial, and strata projects, Sydney EV Chargers has become one of Sydney’s most trusted names in EV charging infrastructure. From a single home EV charger installation to a full multi-tenancy apartment complex with load management, we have the experience and manufacturer certifications to design and deliver the right solution.

Dean Postlethwaite - Licensed Electrician and Founder of Sydney EV Chargers

Dean Postlethwaite is a NSW-licensed electrical contractor (Licence 385197C) with 18 years of experience in the electrical industry. Featured Project: Creston Apartments, Wollongong

A high-rise EV charging infrastructure project demonstrating our capability for large-scale, complex apartment EV charging and commercial EV charging installations.

The Challenge

Creston Apartments is a 15-level residential building in Wollongong with 82 apartments. The strata required a scalable EV charging solution that could meet growing resident demand without requiring costly upgrades to the building’s primary electrical infrastructure over time.

The Solution

Installation of a 160A EV charging backbone serving two car park levels
Integration of a Load Management System (LMS) for dynamic load control
Supply and installation of 2 × 22kW commercial EV chargers
Full commissioning, testing, and load balancing setup

The Result

A future-ready EV infrastructure that allows the strata to add additional chargers as resident demand grows — with no need to upgrade the building’s main electrical supply. The LMS ensures power is distributed intelligently across all active chargers at all times.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The overall experience with Sydney EV Chargers was first class. Booked them a week ahead and they contacted me 2 days prior to the installation of a Zappi charger to, confirm if I'm still good to for the day we arranged. On the day of installation, I received a text message saying they're on their way to my place. So communication was excellent. Arrived on time and did great job of installing and commissioning the Zappi. Found 2 CTs needed reversing, set up the Myenergi app, explained how to operate the Zappi and the app. Asked if I was happy with everything.
I can't fault them and would recommend them for anyone wanting an EV Charger installed.
